Personal Protection Dogs, and Guard dogs for protecting civilians, are the subject of Guard Dog USA. These dogs will be referred to as family guard dogs. Sport Dogs, e.g. Schutzhund, Protection sports dogs, and Police K9 will only be mentioned as they relate to the family guard dog.
